David “Dave” Michael Magee

David Magee Obituary

Lt. Colonel (Ret.) David “Dave” Michael Magee, beloved Husband and Father, 58, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.  Dave was born in Munice, Indiana, to the late Samuel and Rosemary Magee.

Dave was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He graduated from Ohio University where he received his Bachelor's degree in Recreational Management. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where he received his Master's degree in Education. He was a school teacher for numerous years before serving full-time in the United States Army. During his service he received "The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara" and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also worked several years at Fort Bragg at a child services facility. He served in his community by teaching swim lessons and training lifeguards.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Magee; daughters, Ashlyn and Brianna Magee;  his brother John Magee (Suzanne) and sister Kim Bevelhymer (Darell).

A Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Patrick Catholic Church, officiated by Father Greg on Saturday, Dec. 22nd at 11 o’clock, The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:30 am.
