Edwin Donnie Edge

Edwin Donnie Edge, 85, of Fayetteville passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Duke University Medical Center.

Donnie was a retired letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years. His grandson, Cain was the apple of his eye and Donnie was an avid Tarheel fan. He loved to travel and was an avid golfer as a member of the Von Autry/Harold Newman Golf Group. Donnie was a lifetime member of Victory United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 pm in Victory United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Saturday, October 13, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Donnie is preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Ann Edge; parents, Earny and Coman Edge; brothers, Cothran Edge and Thomas Edge; sister, Catherine Melvin.

Donnie is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Betty Cain Edge of the home; daughter, Wendi Edge Melvin and husband James of Fayetteville; grandson, Cain McKinley Melvin; brother, Edgar Edge and wife Myrtle of Fayetteville; sisters, Sarah Edge West and husband Ted of Live Oak, Laverne Edge Hall of Fayetteville, Dottie Edge Britt of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Harold Cain and wife Lynn of Lake Waccamaw.
