Henry Edward Clark, 90 of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday October 6, 2018 at Carolina Inn Assisted Living.
He was born to Alford Edward Clark and Myrtie Catherine Alphin. He spent his childhood in the Judson and Cedar Creek community. Mr. Clark was well known in the farming community of Cedar Creek. He received the American Farmers Degree in 1948. He was owner of Clark's Farm Smokehouse. He served on the Cumberland County Board of Education, Cumberland County Auditorium Board and was actively involved politically in his community. Mr. Clark enjoyed the many years he spent doing fundraisers for Congressman Charlie Rose. He was a lifelong member of Judson Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, was a deacon and held many other positions in the church. Most mornings you would find Henry at McDonalds meeting with the men from the community gathering recent news and gossip.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Hazel Clark Kinlaw, Myrtle Clark Cameron, Kathleen Clark Williams, and son Henry (Hank) Edward Clark II.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Melvin Clark, son, Stephen Clark and wife Elizabeth, daughter in law, Bonnie Clark, grandchildren Chase Clark, McKenzie Stafford and husband Thomas, great granddaughter, McKenna Stafford and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Mr. Clark's caregivers, Gwen, Tina, Marie, Brittany, and his longtime friend Daniel Gomez, The Staff at Carolina Inn Assisted Living and Community Home Care and Hospice. In Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Judson Baptist Church building fund.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 12:30pm to 2pm at Judson Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 2pm, burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
