Irvin G. Edwards, III

Irvin G. Edwards, III, 59, of Fayetteville passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018, at Highsmith-Rainey Specialty Hospital after an extended illness.

Irvin loved bowling and was a long-term board member of the Fayetteville Bowling Association earning many awards with his dedication.  Irvin also enjoyed working with the youth in bowling. He was an Eagle Scout and a lifelong member of the Order of the Arrow and later earned the Adult Wood Badge.  Irvin was an avid photographer and his skills will be missed by family and friends. He also loved to fish in the rivers and streams of Watauga County, NC.

Irvin is preceded in death by his father, Irvin G. Edwards, Jr., and an uncle, Robert Pearson.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Highland Presbyterian Church Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall.

Irvin is survived by his mother, Florence Pearson Edwards; sister, Ellen Edwards Bower; nephews, Harley Charles-Irvin Bower and Christopher Allan Bower; uncle, Albert T. Pearson,Jr. and wife Suzanne; aunt, Sandra Pearson; great aunt, Anne Varley, cousins, Robert Varley, Peggy V. Markham, Gail Varley, Fred Varley,  Kathy Pearson Stanford, Mary Pearson Geshel, Robert Pearson and wife Nina,  Paul Dixon, Gail P. Greenlaw, Eunice P. Rehume, Nancy Cheek Britt; and special friend, Rachel Heath.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made for the youth scholarship bowling fund c/o Sim Lee Scholarship Fund 3531 Beechwood St. Hope Mills, NC 28348 or to Highland Presbyterian Church Debt Retirement Fund 111 Highland Ave. Fayetteville, NC 28305.
