Lola Smith Obituary

Lola Allen Smith of Fayetteville, NC passed away on August 17, 2018. She was born in Louisburg, NC on April 25,1930 to the late Auburn Allen and Lola Parrish Allen. A resident of Cumberland County since 1962, Lola worked as a floral designer. She was a military wife who was dedicated to raising her sons and helping her friends and neighbors. She was a long-time member of Saint Matthew's United Methodist Church on Hope Mills Road.

She was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother, Nerve Allen; her husband of 40 years, George W. Smith, Jr.; a brother, Fred Allen; and sisters, Ann Laoudis and Annie Rue Hill.
She is survived by halfbrothers, Paul Allen and Julian Allen and wife, Myrtle of Louisburg, NC; her sons, Steven George Smith and wife, Edna of Topsail Beach, NC, and James Allen Smith of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Steven T. Smith and wife, Karen of Topsail Beach, NC, Matthew Allen Smith and wife, Shelly of Concord, NC and Tracy Elizabeth Smith of Fayetteville, NC; great-grandchildren, Sandy and Connor Smith of Topsail Beach, NC; nieces, Judy Pritchard of Chesapeake, VA and Barbara Kent of Huntsville, AL; several great-nieces and nephews; and many dear neighbors and friends.

Visitation will be August 22, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 1:00 PM at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
Burial will occur at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Spring Lake, NC following services at St. Matthew's United Methodist Church.
The family will welcome friends at 4:00 PM, St. Matthew's United Methodist Church following the committal service.
