Mrs. Maxine Edith Garner, 86 of Fayetteville, N.C. passed away peacefully on September 12, 2018 in Panama City, Florida.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. The burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Maxine is preceded in death by her parents Oliver and Eva Hewitt Matthews, her brothers, Oliver Weldon 'Son', and Warren Verdery Matthews, Sister Francis Jeanette Spiller, sister-in-law Anne Marie Matthews, Her husband Thomas Ervin Garner Sr, and son Thomas Ervin Garner Jr.
She is survived by her son Troy Maxie Garner, his wife Kathy, daughter-in-law Ninfa Campo Garner, Granddaughters Michelle Garner Adcock and her husband Danny, Lisa Garner Wardenaar, and her husband Jeffrey Wardenaar, Grandsons Matthew and Clay Garner. Great grandchildren Olivia and Ava Adcock, Garner and Tallie West, Anneke Wardenaar, and Hazel Garner. Brothers Paul and Robert Matthews, Sister Etrude Piner and her husband Pete Piner, Sister Mary Erne and her husband Jim Erne, also brother in law Jerry Spiller. Her beloved four legged companion of 14 years Petee "Petra".
Maxine was very blessed with many nieces and nephews who loved their funny Aunt Mac.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Cross Shores Nursing Center and Bay Sacred Heart Covenant Care Center for having such compassion and giving such wonderful care.
