Wesley Worth Herndon, 78 of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at his home, surrounded by family.
Worth retired after many years of owning and operating Herndon Brothers Service Station.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Viola Brisson Herndon; brothers, Marvin, Bill, Dan, Vance, and Earl Herndon; sister, Doris Coats; son, Eddie Cox.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Rose Lashley Herndon; sons, Michael (Cindy), Stephen (Sharolyn) and David; daughters, Kathy Chavis (Stanley), Patti Caulder (Darrell) and Lisa Edge (Brian); grandchildren, Mathew, Jason, Jennifer, Amanda, Amber, Ben, Brian, Tyler, Debra and Bailey; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Herndon; sisters, Frances Peele, Sylvia Pait and Olga Westbrook.
The family will receive friends Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to one’s favorite children’s charity.
