Abigail Hawley McArthur, 83, of Fayetteville passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Abigail was born August 14, 1938 in Richmond County, NC to the late Beatrice and Theodore Hawley. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig H. McArthur.

Graveside services will be on Monday, December 13, 2021 at 2 pm at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, William P. McArthur, Sr., sons, William P. McArthur, Jr. and wife Geri, Ronald H. McArthur and wife Cindy; daughter, Beatrice McArthur Sanders and husband Mike; brothers, Theodore A. Hawley, Jr., and wife Belinda, William S. Hawley, Sr., and wife Sonia; 7 grandchildren and their spouses, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 5 step great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
