Obituary

Mrs. Ada Baker Lee, 95, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Lee was the oldest living member of Temple Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Old Bluff Cemetery. The Rev. Warren Barfield will be officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas H. Lee; sisters, Iula Raynor and Ann Almendarez; brothers, Joe Baker, Neil Baker Jr., Ellis Baker and Jesse Baker; and grandson, Anthony Strickland. She is survived by daughters, Frances L. Vendettuoli and husband Pat of Fayetteville, Joyce L. Strickland of Fayetteville, Gloria L. Mercer and husband Winfred of Clinton, S.C., and Angela L. Naylor and husband Eddie of Fayetteville; son, Thomas W. Lee and wife Carolyn of Spring Hill, Fla.; sisters, Eloise Starcher of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Florence Walker of Fayetteville, Jean Parker of Benson, Helen Canady of Fayetteville and Virginia Wallace of Albertson; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
