FAYETTEVILLE - Alden Hugh Leonard, 90 of Fayetteville passed away Tuesday, June 14, 1016 in N.C. State Veterans Nursing Home.
Alden was born August 10, 1925 in Brunswick County, N.C. to the late Addie and Walter Leonard. Alden was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a former deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church and a former employee at Sears in customer service.
Funeral services will be Monday, June 16, 2016 at 12 noon in Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Alden was preceded in death by his wives, Kathleen Hinkle and Eunice M. Leonard ; brothers, Dillion Leonard and Carmen Leonard; son-in-law, Ray Prevatte; sisters, Melba Milkey and Laure Pugh.
Alden is survived by his daughter, Jane Prevatte of Lumberton; stepsons, John Butler of Fayetteville and Gary Butler and wife Linda of Quinton, Virginia; stepdaughter, Carolyn Hardin and husband Ron of Fayetteville; step-grandchildren, Teresa Woodside, Angela Hall and Neil Butler and step-greatgrandchildren, Chris Woodside, Hunter Woodside, Maggie Hall, and Ashlyn Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church 219 Hull Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28303.
