Alvin T. Warren, 92, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Haymount Rehabilitation Nursing center. Mr. Warren was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Cumberland County to Edward K. and Sarah Buie Warren. He was a retired farmer and was a faithful member of Gardner's United Methodist Church, where he served as an usher and was a member of Louise Smith Sunday school class. Mr. Warren was also a past memberof St. Andrews United Methodist Church. Warrenwood Elementary School was built on the land that onced belonged to Alvin T. Warren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter; and two sisters, Inez Edge and Ruth W. Pritchett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Bethania Buie Warren of the home; sister, Marian Warren of Fayetteville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007, at 3 p.m. in Gardner's United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Davis and Bryan Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends form 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Gardner's United Methodist Church, 4555 Rosehill Road, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
