Andre Matthew Harris, an army captain and long time resident of Fayetteville,NC died unexpectedly on 14 August 2017 at the age of 38.

Andre was born in Alabama January 30, 1979 to Don and Shirley Harris. He attended Berean Baptist Academy, graduated from Seventy-First high school and graduated from East Carolina University with a BA degree in Hospitality Management. As a military logistician, he served two combat tours in Afghanistan. On 28 March 2011 he welcomed his beautiful daughter Eden.

Andre loved and enjoyed music most of all. He frequently listened to music and taught himself to play the piano. He was skilled at playing tenor and alto saxophone also. Andre enjoyed making people laugh, playing basketball and even cooking. He had a fun loving spirit and was always a help to those who needed it. Andre enjoyed talking about the Bible and having conversations on Bible topics with his sister. He had a great admiration for his father and deeply loved his mother.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents Don and Shirley Harris, daughters Eden Harris and Anjalee Bridges-Smith, his former spouse Danielle Smith; sister Christine Washington and husband David, nephews Ethan and Spencer Washington and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors.
