Andrew Bernard Moore, 73, of Eastover, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Andrew proudly served his country by first joining the United States Army before transferring to the United States Air Force. He retired after 20 years of faithful military service. Following his military career, he worked as an Environmental Engineer with Civil Service. His career brought his family to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he continued serving his community until his retirement. Andrew was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, remaining committed to his profession until declining health made it no longer possible for him to work.
Andrew enjoyed watching basketball, boxing, classic "cheesy" movies, traveling, and sightseeing. He treasured time spent with family and friends and will be remembered for his kind heart, warm spirit, and the love he shared with those around him. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend whose presence will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his son, Andre Moore, and his special cousin, Ronnie Lyons.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 39 years, Sylvia Nixon Moore; his sons, Jesse Moore and wife, Kasey, and Sean Moore; his special cousin, Joyce; along with many other relatives and dear friends.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
