FAYETTEVILLE - Andrew \\"Andy\\" Alvitre, 35, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, in Manna Church with the Rev. David Sgro and the Rev. Ron Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday at the church.
Mr. Alvitre was the program director for the Academy of Christian Martial Arts. He served five years in the U.S. Army. He was a combat engineer in Korea, France and Panama.
He is survived by his three children, Peter Alvitre, Jacqueline Alvitre and Katherine Alvitre of Fayetteville; mother, Veronica R. Diaz of Fayetteville; father, Pete Ray Alvitre of Anaheim, Calif.; brothers, Gabe Alvitre of Phoenix, and Matt Alvitre of California; sister, Desiree Alvitre of Phoenix, Janine Alvitre of Lexington, Ky.; significant other, Colleen Clayton of Hope Mills; and mother of children, Lynda Steele of Fayetteville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Academy of Christian Martial Arts, 1916 Skibo Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
