Fayetteville

Angela "Angie" Gaye Devane, 64, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on April 18, 1962, in Cumberland County, Angie was the daughter of the late Lacy Capps and Betty Sanders Johnson. She graduated from Douglas Byrd High School with the Class of 1980.

Angie will be remembered for her positive attitude, silly sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her. She loved cooking and could often be found watching the Food Network in search of new recipes and inspiration. She also enjoyed sharing her passion for cooking with others as the moderator of a Facebook recipe group, where she built lasting friendships through her love of food.

A devoted animal lover, Angie spent much of her life rescuing animals and giving them the love and care they deserved. Her last rescue, Luca, held a special place in her heart and already misses her dearly.

Angie had a unique love for frogs and delighted in collecting frog-themed jewelry, lawn ornaments, figurines, and countless other treasures featuring her favorite amphibian. Her collections reflected her fun-loving personality and brought smiles to all who knew her.

Above all else, Angie cherished her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, and friend whose kindness, laughter, and unconditional love will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 11:50 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel.

In addition to her parents, Angie was preceded in death by her stepfathers, Alexander Sanders and Wilson Johnson, and her brothers, William Capps and Gene Capps.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 19 years, Craig Devane; her children, Heather Crabb, Jamie Crabb, Kirsten Devane (Bryan O'Quinn), and B.C. Bryant; and her treasured grandchildren, her greatest joy, twins Paul and David O'Quinn. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember her warmth, compassion, and infectious smile.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
