Obituary

Mrs. Anis Marie Michael Dixon, 87 of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2013 in her home. Anis was born in Mannington, West Virginia. She was the second daughter of the late Leo Forest Michael and Lutie Arnettt Michael. She grew up and spent her early career in Marion Co., West Virginia. She graduated from Mannington High School in 1943. She moved to Bridgeton, New Jersey in 1943 where she worked for Owens Illinois Glass. She lived there for 52 years before moving to Fayetteville in 1995. She was very active in her churches in Bridgeton, Laurel Hill and West Park United Methodist Church before joining Campground United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl A. Dixon, sisters; Lorraine Freeman, Patricia Jane Metz, Freda Rose Fleming and a brother Forest Lynn Michael. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Campground United Methodist Church with the Rev. Haywood Smith, Rev. Dennis Lamm and Rev. David Wade, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m. Mrs. Dixon is survived by her daughter Carole J. Spillane and husband Joseph (Jay); 2 grandchildren Col. Kelly C. Spillane and wife Beth, Kristy L. Shelton and husband Tommie; 4 great-grandchildren; Alexandria Anneheim, Kyle Spillane, Lauren Spillane and Madison Shelton; 3 sisters; Jean Wetzel, Nancy Jean Yundt and Cara Doreen Furbee and a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Campground United Methodist Church 4625 Campground Rd. Fayetteville. N.C. 28314 The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00p.m. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at Campground United Methodist Church Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
