Mrs. Ann Strickland Avent Hobbs, 91, of Eastover, NC, died Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Ann was born July 9, 1931, in Rocky Mount, NC, to the late William Maurice Avent and Cornelia Strickland Avent.  She was a retired lab technician.  Ann was Past Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls, Fayetteville Chapter.  She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crossword puzzles.  Ann had a strong faith in the Bible and reading daily devotions.

Ann is survived by her sons, Robert Gregory Hobbs and wife Beth and William Maurice Hobbs; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Elzy Thomas Hobbs.

A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the church.
