Mrs. Ann Thomas Matthews, 63, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, August 13, 2016.

She was the widow of Jon Michael Matthews and the daughter of the late Col. William G. Thomas III and Jean Lyon Thomas. Ann was born on July 1, 1953 in Fayetteville and grew up on Army bases throughout the world. A graduate of then Methodist College, Ann enjoyed a wonderful four decade long career in broadcasting at radio stations across our country. She is survived by her sister, Pawley Thomas Shields and brothers, Terry Lyon Thomas and William G. Thomas IV and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 17th at 10 a.m. at Cross Creek Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Ann's life on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at The DHP. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 16th at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to FAPS, 3927 Bragg Blvd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28303
