Anna Hester Garner, 88, of Wake Forest, formerly of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015 at Transitions Life Care in Cary after a brief illness.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 10 at Lafayette Memorial Park. Anna was born in Hurdle Mills, N.C. on July 11, 1927.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillian Hester; stepmother, Belle Hester; sisters, Eloise Wagstaff, Rosaline Rhodes, Mary Alice Jones and Kathleen Brewer; husband, Arnold Garner and step-son, Jim Garner.

Anna is survived by her grand-children, Trey and Sarah Garner of Greer, S.C. and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Haymount United Methodist Church, 100 Ft. Bragg Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. 28303 or to Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle Cary, N.C. 27607. The family wishes to thank the staff of Transitions Life Care for the wonderful loving care she received during the last weeks of her life.
