FAYETTEVILLE — Mrs. Anne Gilmore Knight, 66, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at her home. Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a true Southern belle. She was a past treasurer of the Garden Club Council of Fayetteville. Anne was a loyal member of the Colonial Garden Club and the Pines Garden Club. She was a longtime member of the Terry Sanford High School Reunion Committee. Anne was an active member of the Gala Social Club and the Cotillion Club. She had many friends and especially enjoyed the outings with the "the Birthday Girls" and their spouses. Anne had a special talent for interior decorating, enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. The visitation will be held at the home, 3109 Drury Lane, on Friday, June 8, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m. Private services will be held at a later date. She is survived by her husband, Vance W. Knight of the home; son, Thomas L. Bradford Jr. and wife Lesley of Waynesville; daughters, Beth Bradford of Fayetteville, and Jennifer Telles and husband Dan of Fayetteville; sister, Vickie Presnell and husband Larry of Raleigh; aunt, Mary Saunders and husband Mike of Bostic; grandchildren, Brawley Davis, Dottie Davis, Drake Davis, Eleanor Davis, Sophia Telles and Jocelyn Telles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Hugh Gilmore. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fayetteville Animal Protective Society, 3927 Bragg Blvd., Fayetteville, NC 28303, or a favorite charity.
