FAYETTEVILLE - Annie E. Shaw Lane, 83, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in the Rehabilitation and Health Care Center at Village Green in Fayetteville. Annie wasn't just my mom, she was my best friend. We talked and laughed every day. She was a loving devoted wife for 63 years. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the twinkle in her eyes when she spoke of them. She took in all my friends and all stray animals and became their mom, too. Our loss is heaven's gain. A funeral service for Mrs. Annie E. Lane will be held on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Jernigan Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. The visitation will be held one hour before the service, from 10 to 11 a.m., at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her mother and father; Cora and Frank Shaw; and her brother, Brantley Shaw. Mrs. Lane is survived by her loving husband, Robert N. Lane of the home; son, Ronald D. Lane of Fayetteville; daughter, Yvonne Lane of Fayetteville; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
