Mrs. Annie Ruth T. Oakes, 85 of Hillview Ave. died Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her residence. Mrs. Oakes was a member of Northview Baptist Church and was a retired cafeteria manager with the Cumberland County School System. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Northview Baptist Church with the Rev. Brooks Grimes officiating, burial following at Lafayette Memorial Park. Mrs. Oakes was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Lloyd Turner and her husband Pete Oakes. Surviving are her daughters, Rev. Jane Leechford and husband Robert and Linda Oakes; 2 grandchildren, Paul Leechford and wife Kaity and Amy Leechford; 2 great grandchildren, Tucker and Tanner Leechford.
