Archie (Mike) B. Smith, Jr., age 87, passed away September 17, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Mike was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church. He served the Lord in many capacities at the church for 62 years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 1 pm in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 1 pm at the funeral home.

Mike was predeceased by his wife, Joyce McKee Smith; his parents, Lucille and stepfather, Tallman Coleman, and father, Archie B. Smith, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Hubbard Smith; his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ricky Long of Fayetteville, Cynthia Smith of Fayetteville, Debbie and Lacy Pittman of Holly Springs, and Mickey and Bill Urbanczyk of Garner; his grandchildren, Richard Long, Mike Long and Ashley Pittman; and his great-grandchildren.

Mike enjoyed his relationship with his Masonic brotherhood for over sixty years. He was employed by Atlantic Tobacco, Beech Nut Co., Sears Hardware, Peter Paul Almond Joy, Williford's Hardware and his last fun job driving for Bleecker Motors. He enjoyed all the friendships established through the years.

Mike was a loving Father, Grandfather and friend to all his children. His sons-in-law had a special relationship in every way as a Dad.
