Arthur Harold Davis, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away Friday, July 20, 2007, in his home.
He was a dedicated member of Mount Vernon Baptist Church and a Baptist deacon for more than 40 years. He retired from the state of North Carolina as a bridge builder and inspector after 45 years of service. He also loved working with wood.
A visitation will be held today, July 22, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. A funeral service will be held Monday, July 23, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Pine Rest Cemetery in Robbins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Davis Sr. and Ethel B. Davis; his first wife, Dorothy Crowe Davis; and his brother, Edwin Davis Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Cooper Bass Davis of the home; two sons, Arthur H. "Rocky" Davis Jr. of Robbins and Jeffrey S. Davis of Abingdon, Va.; a stepson, Kenneth Mark Hall of Lumberton; three stepdaughters, Ina Hall McDonald, Kathy Hall and Sherri Hall Warwick, all of Fayetteville; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
