Arthur (Jerry) Madison Brown, Jr., 90, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 at his residence.

Jerry was the only child of Arthur Madison and Eva Brown. He was born in Greensboro and lived there for the early part of his life. He joined the Army in 1951 and was stationed at Fort Bragg during the Korean War.  During this time he served with the 82nd Airborne Division.  Three years later, he left the Army and moved back to Greensboro where he was a small business owner.  Jerry later settled in Fayetteville where he was in commercial sales at Ed Mac Trucks. Later in his career, he was self-employed and owned a used car dealership.  Jerry loved to fish from the time he was young. He was happiest when he was fishing on his pier at his house on Barbour Lake Road.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Roberta Brown; daughters, Janet (Henry) Kehoe and Jodie (Jeff) Nance, both of Hope Mills; sons, Arthur (Jay) Madison Brown, III  and Judy of Cashiers, NC and Jeffrey Madison Brown of Fayetteville.

He is survived by 6 grandchildren.  Erin Kehoe of Philadelphia, PA, Michael Kehoe of Charleston, SC, Jackson Nance and Jenna Grace Nance of Hope Mills, NC, Jerald Brown and Joshua Brown of Fayetteville, NC.

Memorials may be made to Amedysis Hospice Care of Pembroke, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Fayetteville Community Church. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2 p.m. prior to the service at the Church.  A committal service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 12 noon at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
