Retired Army Master Sergeant Arthur George Moore, 80, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mr. Moore served in the Army for 21 years, during which he served in Vietnam and was a member of the 82nd Airborne. After retiring from the military, he owned and operated Art's Home Repair. He was a Mason and a member of Woodmen of the World. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 am in Jernigan Warren Chapel with Rev. Floyd Benfield officiating. The burial will follow in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with military honors. Arthur is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie S. Moore of the home; a son, Michael C. Moore of Fayetteville; daughter, Mickey Fouche of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Monica, of Florida; a sister, Hazel Diffin of Burt, MI; and two brothers-in-law, James Smith and J.D. Smith, both of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
