Obituary

FAYETTEVILLE - Arvie D. Woolard, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, in the VA Medical Center. Arvie was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a faithful member of Village Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Homemakers Furniture and Interiors. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. today, Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in Village Baptist Church, with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. today in the Fireside Room at the church. Mr. Woolard is survived by his sisters, Marie Alligood, Betty Lou Sutton and Trumella Woolard, all of Washington, N.C,, and Minnie Spain of Bethel; and brothers, Billy Ray Woolard and Tommy Woolard of Washington. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie Alligood Woolard; sisters, Naydelle Squires and Mary Helen McRoy; and brother, John B. Woolard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's Home of Thomasville. Visitation: 12-1 pm, Saturday, November 15 in the Firside Room at Village Baptist Church Memorial: 1pm, Saturday, November 15 at Village Baptist Church
