FAYETTEVILLE -- Mrs. Barbara Lou Devane Harrelson, 82, of Fayetteville, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, in her home at 1009 Ancestry Drive, Apt 1. She was born on March 10, 1931. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Hillside Baptist Church in Hope Mills. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. She is survived by her husband, W. M. "Buddy" Harrelson of Fayetteville; four children, Patricia Harrelson Wallace, Ronald Lynn Harrelson, and Angela Harrelson Underwood of Fayetteville, and Brenda Harrelson Tavenner of Littleton; a brother, Billy Devane of Fayetteville; a sister, Jeannette Devane Ferguson of Gainesville, Ga.; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Currie Devane; and her mother, Sally Geneva Dunham Devane, both of White Oak. She was a charter member of Hillside Baptist Church in Hope Mills, where she served faithfully in the nursery for many years. She was retired from Roses Department Store. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hillside Baptist Church Building Fund.
