Barbara Jane Haas, 86, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. She was born in Peoria, Illinois on December 8, 1936.

Barbara earned her Bachelor's degree at Bradley University where she met her beloved husband of 63 years, David Lee Haas. She was an avid reader throughout her life.

After David and she raised their two daughters, Tammora Suzanne Edge and Christina Elizabeth Clark, she began a career in preparing taxes, a vocation she loved and practiced for over 40 years continuing till the day she passed away. She founded Angel's Taxes. She was a Past President of the N.C. Society of Tax Professionals.

One of Barbara's greatest loves was the gathering of family for special occasions, most especially Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was renowned among the family for meals and celebrations. In truth, Barbara Haas was the spirit of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 from 12:30-2:00 PM with a funeral service following in the chapel at 2 PM.

Barbara is survived by her husband, David Haas; daughters, Tammora Suzanne Edge (Terry), Christina Elizabeth Clark (Jason); grandchildren, Marshall, Michael, Trevor, Willis, Chase, Amie, Shannon, Dylan, Kayla, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Bradley and Asheton.
