Mrs. Barbara Haithcock, 61, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, July 4, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Barbara was born July 22, 1952, in Hope Mills to the late Dan Harrington and Elizabeth Maynard Stout. She was a graduate of East Carolina University where she received her bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Later, she received her master's degree from Fayetteville State University. She taught in the Cumberland County Schools for 40 years, primarily at Teresa C. Berrien Elementary and Warrenwood Elementary. She was a devoted member and Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Christopher L. Haithcock. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, R. Lynn Haithcock of the home; brothers, George W. Stout of Holden Beach and Dan H. Stout and wife Gina of Matthews; niece, Jill Stout of Matthews; and nephew, Dan H. Stout, III and wife, Baker of Matthews. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at 3pm in Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. J. Richard McDuffie, Jr. presiding. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth Programs, 2505 Village Drive, Fayetteville NC 28304.
