Barbara Jean McBryde Johnson, 83 of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James A. McBryde and Dora Huggins McBryde, her husband, John Gilbert "Johnny" Johnson and her son, John Steven Johnson, Sr. She retired as a purchasing and contracting officer at Fort Bragg after about 35 years of service.  As an administrator of the Johnson Family Farms, she was awarded the NC State Farmer of the Year award in the early eighties. She is survived by her son, James G. Johnson; daughter-in-law, Karla Johnson; three grandchildren, John Steven Johnson Jr., Brian Matthew Johnson and Zane Gray Johnson; great grandson, Ethan Nash Johnson; and sister, Patricia M. Hall.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 11am to 12noon at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home with the funeral following at Noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow the service in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.
