Barbara Allen Trogdon, 82, of Hope Mills, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Barbara was born on November 17, 1942, in Robeson County to the late Charlie Watts and Lauradell Thompson Watts. She was a devoted member of Arran Lake Baptist Church and will be remembered for her love of conversation and her take-charge spirit. In the 1970s, she owned and operated Trogdon Sportswear & Apparel and later continued her career in retail.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Vance Trogdon and son, Mark Kevin Trogdon.
She is survived by her son, Jimmy Trogdon; son, Michael Trogdon and wife, Charla; grandchildren, Jamie Summerlin and husband Teague of Jacksonville, NC, Allison Trogdon of Myrtle Beach, SC, Amanda Pearce and husband James of Greenville, NC, Reese Trogdon of Hope Mills, Joshua Trogdon, Walter Trogdon and wife Alyssa of Fayetteville, Melissa Ward and husband Kevin of Stedman, and Christy Burk and husband Scott of Lexington; great-grandchildren, Asher and Charlie Summerlin of Jacksonville, NC, Carson, Lucas, and Madison Boisvert of Stedman, Bailey Brown, Liam and Alexis Burk of Lexington, and Anslea Trogdon; and several nieces and nephews; brother, Clarence Watts and wife Joan of Elizabethtown, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:45 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Arran Lake Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Andrew Clark and Dr. Jeff Isenhour officiating. Burial will be held at Stoney Point Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers are appreciated, or memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Cape Fear Valley Medical Cancer Center.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
