FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Beonia Self Mason, 95, died Monday, October 17, 2016, in Highland House Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 2 pm in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.

Beonia was a Marine Corps veteran. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Mason.

Beonia is survived by her sons, Steve Mason of Barnardsville, NC and RIchard Mason of Lafayette, CO; daughter, Judy Asbell and husband John Richard of Fayetteville; grandson, Brian Asbell and wife Greta, of Fayetteville; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Emily and John; and sister, Carolyn Mabry of Gaffney, SC.
