Bernard "Bernie" E. Brooks, Jr., 75, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, August 23, 2017.

Bernie was retired from the City of Fayetteville. He was an avid golfer and loved his family and friends. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, August 25, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Bernie is survived by his wife of 31 years, Kathy Matthews Brooks; daughter, Mary Anne Brooks; step-children, Dale Brown and wife Mandy, Donna Parker and husband Chuck and Staci Brown; grandchildren, Madison, Ethan, Lincoln, and Lilyan Brown, Jackson, Preston and Ava Claire Parker, Emily and Will Brown.
