Obituary

Beryl Warren McKethan, 96, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015. She was born on March 29, 1919 in Sampson County. She retired from Branch Banking and Trust Company but previously had been employed many years by Belk-Hensdale.

Beryl was predeceased by her husband, David Alexander McKethan and her parents, William B. Warren and Ida Bass Warren. She is survived by two daughters, Jane McKethan Holt (Jerry) of Fayetteville and Brenda McKethan Edge (Kenneth) of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Ginna West, Jeremy Holt, Chris Edge, Brian Edge and Anisa Tetterton; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

After retiring, Beryl, (better known by many as Mee Maw) had more time to become an active volunteer. She loved her church, Camp Ground, and through various church programs she helped those in need. Not only did she volunteer at church, but also Highsmith Rainey Memorial Hospital where she once received the Volunteer of the Year Award. Meals on Wheels was another opportunity for her to freely give her service.

She treasured her family and was treasured by her family. Praying daily for each member by name was her gift to all. Then the highlight of the year was the birthday phone call in which Mee Maw personally sang Happy Birthday to each one.

A time of visitation will take place prior to the service on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, from 2:00 p.m to 3:00 p.m. at Camp Ground United Methodist Church. Following the visitation, the family invites you in a celebration of Beryl's life at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Ground United Methodist Church, 4625 Camp Ground Road, Fayetteville NC 28314.
