Mrs. Betty E. Beard, 79, of Fayetteville, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Beard was a charter member of Peace Presbyterian Church. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008, in Peace Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Annelle Waldron. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Beard is survived by her husband, Ernest Beard of the home; a daughter, Beth Woosley and husband Rick of Cary; a brother, Willie S. Earley of Fayetteville; and two grandchildren, Sarah and Morgan. Memorials may be made to Peace Presbyterian Church Capital Campaign Fund, 3203 Ramsey St., Fayetteville, NC 28301.
