Mrs. Betty Dean Rhodes Easterling, 70, of 507 Dashland Drive, Fayetteville, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Easterling was a 1955 graduate of Seventy-First High School. She retired as a bookkeeper with First Citizens Bank after 23 years of service. She was also a retired insurance underwriter with Mid-South Insurance with 23 years of service. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2007, in the chapel of Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville with Chaplain Diana Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park West. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Oct. 17, 2007, at the funeral home. Mrs. Easterling is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Don Easterling of the home; two sons, Bill Easterling and wife Kathy of Pittsboro and Dean Easterling of Fayetteville; a daughter, Donna Easterling of Fayetteville; a brother, Bill Rhodes of Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; two sisters, Rose Downing of Fayetteville and Johnnie Mae Hammond of Sparrow Bush, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Tony, Justin, Andrew and Blaire; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Evan and Kyle.
