Mrs. Betty Schortemeyer Smith, 75, of Fayetteville, died Friday, June 26, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Smith was a former auxiliary Volunteer with Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for many years, she was also a member of TOPS and The Red Hat Society. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Burial will following in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Patrick Smith. Surviving are her daughter, Sandra Fowler; sons, David Smith and wife Susan and Michael Smith; grandchildren, Beth Campbell, Linda Sparr, Laura Wayne and Sean Smith; and great-granddaughter Alyssa Sparr. The family will receive friend from 10-11 a.m. Monday, one hour prior to the service at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
