Mrs. Betty-Lou Davis, 71, of Fayetteville, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Mrs. Davis retired from Cumberland County schools after 27 years. She spent the past 10 years operating Sandy Ridge Child Care Center with her family. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008, in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville, with the Rev. Craig Ham and the Rev. Rod Mullens officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon to 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis is survived by her husband, Paul W. Davis of the home; two sons, Steve Davis of Newberry, Fla., and Ronnie Davis and wife Melanie of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Will Davis, Anna Davis and Katie Davis, all of Fayetteville; and four sisters, Virginia Brigman of Fayetteville, Sara Lewis of Fayetteville, Mary Ruth McLamb of Stedman and Sandra Cottle of Morehead City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your local church.
