William H."Bill" Johnson, 83, of Fayetteville, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007. He was born March 3, 1924, to Kate McDaniel and William James Johnson.
He served 22 years in the U.S. Army, was a veteran of World War II and Vietnam, and served 17 years with Cumberland County schools. He was a longtime member of Judson Baptist Church and served as Sunday school teacher and deacon.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 26, 2007, in Judson Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Byrd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Johnson of the home; two daughters, Janis McDaniels of Orlando, Fla., and Deborah Williams of Autryville; two sons, David Johnson of Fayetteville and Steve Barnes of Autryville; five grandchildren, Chris, Megan and Kasey Johnson, Misty McLamb and Nicholas Barnes; and five great-grandchildren, Brynn Johnson, Dawson, Jenna and Molly McLamb and Koltlyn Barnes.
