Mrs. Billie H. Boyce, of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at age 78. Born in Washington to the late William P. Harris and Hilda D. Harris, Mrs. Boyce followed in death her husband of nearly 50 years, John P. Boyce Sr., an Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, who died in December 2003. Mrs. Boyce retired from the Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union with more than 28 years of dedicated service, friendly professionalism and personal sincerity, from 1973 at its first location on Bastogne Drive to 2002 at the credit union's branch on Skibo Road in Fayetteville. She also worked with the Voice of America and businesses in Fayetteville and in Washington. She resided recently in Columbia, S.C., for nine years. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Col. Ronald B. Hill, deputy U.S. Army Forces Command chaplain, will officiate. Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville is in charge of arrangements, and the Boyce Family will gather there from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Surviving are her two sons, John P. Boyce Jr. of Fayetteville and Christopher A. Boyce of Columbia, S.C.; his wife, Mary Paige Boyce; and granddaughter, Mary Grace Boyce. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street the Boyce Family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren from 1 to 1:45 p.m prior to the graveside.
