Billie Estes Hankins, 91 of Fayetteville passed away Friday, July 29, 2016 in Carolina Inn @ Village Green.

Billie was a retired teacher after 52 years. She retired from teaching full time in Ft. Bragg schools and taught part time at Fayetteville Academy. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, George and Wilma Estes and husband, John W. "Bill" Hankins, Jr. Graveside services will be Monday, August 1, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St. with a memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. in Highland Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Mrs. Hankins is survived by her sons, Carlton Pender and wife Joan of Atlanta; George Pender and wife Chris of Cary; daughters, Sally Bryant and husband William of Fuquay-Varina; Susan Ferris and husband Gary of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Mary Howard Logel, Eleanor Pender, Gray Pender, and Jennifer Chiccino and 6 great-grandchildren.
