Billie Jo Starrett Avila, 89 of Fayetteville, NC  passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021.

She was born May 19, 1931 in Gastonia, NC to the late Joe B. Starrett and Gollis Millsaps Starrett

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard F. Avila and her daughter, Cathy Jo Palaita, and a brother, Reggie Starrett of Enterprise, Alabama.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 7pm to 9pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home,  The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 11am at Trinity Baptist Church, 433 Southland Drive with Dr. Randy White officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street.

She is survived by son-in law, Mike Palaita; daughters, Angela Dial and husband Stephen; Stephanie Garison and husband Gary, all of Fayetteville;  brother, David Starrett and wife Kay of Cramerton, NC ; grandchildren, Christian Palaita, Katherine Malua and husband Malua, Jr., Starrett Reynolds and wife Sarah, Madison Congleton and husband Brett, and Megan Garison; great-grandchildren, Faith and Hope Malua; and Isaac Zurn-Reynolds.
