Billy L. Hair, of Fayetteville, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2011, in the Carrol S. Roberson Hospice Center in Fayetteville. Billy Hair was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lorene Hall Hair; his father and mother, Mr. Edward D. Hair and Mrs. Mamie Jackson Hair. Billy was formerly of Wade, where he was an active member of the Wade Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. He was also a lifetime member of Old Bluff Presbyterian Church. He was formerly a Cumberland County deputy sheriff; as well as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 28 years. Mr. Billy L. Hair was also a proud retired Army veteran. Billy L. Hair is survived by his three daughters, Linda H. Page and husband Kenny Page, Gail H. Widener, and Lisa H. Royster; grandchildren, Jamin, Nealie Beth, Brittany and husband Craig, Sumner, Colton and Farrin; and a brother, Graham Hair. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at 12:30p.m. at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Wade with the Rev. Herb Young officiating. A visitation will be held at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
