Retired US Army SFC Billy Ray Carr, 81, passed away peacefully at his son's home in Canton, Texas, May 1, 2013. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2013, at 3 pm in Cumberland Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Carr. Mr. Carr is survived by his son, Billy R. Carr, Jr. and his wife Dana, of the home; granddaughter, Jennifer Ryan of Virginia; 3 grandsons, Alexander of College Station, TX, Daniel and Billy, both of the home; sister, Ruby Pierce; nephew, Charlie Pierce; niece, Rose Swain and husband Bob and several other nieces; and a special friend, Katie Sky of Fayetteville and many more who loved him dearly.The family will receive friends at Jernigan-Warren on Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 6pm to 8pm and the graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 3pm in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
