Billy C. Whittenton Sr., 72, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully at home, Monday April 12, 2010. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 2010, at 11 a.m. in Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home chapel in Fayetteville with the Rev. Kenneth Earwood officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the funeral home. He was born in Harnett County to the late Rev. Joe and Mary Lois Whittenton on Dec. 2, 1937. He worked at Home Credit for 20 years and was the owner and president of Security Adjustment Service for more than 30 years. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie J. Peters. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne Reaves Whittenton; children, Tammy W. Aichroth and husband Fred, Audrey W. Robinson and husband Gary, Billy C. Whittenton Jr. and wife Lisa ,and Sheila W. Mitchell and husband Larry; nieces, Monica Johnson and husband Bill, and Julia Mitschke; grandchildren, Jennifer Dreier, Ashley McCullen, Lauren Robinson, Taylor Whittenton, Joseph Aichroth and Chase Whittenton; great-grandchildren, Garrison Dreier, Valerie Veauthier, Sutton Dreier and Vanessa Veauthier; and beloved dog, Max. Services entrusted to Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home of Fayetteville.
