Bobbette Colton Vallery, 99, joined her husband, Col. Joy K. Vallery, and older daughter, Bobby Joy Vallery, in heaven in the early hours of February 6, 2017.
Bobbette was born November 17, 1917, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Harry Judson Colton and Lela Hall Colton. She graduated magna cum laude in 1939 from the University of Nebraska with a BS in Business. She and her husband were stationed in Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was attacked as they were celebrating Bobby Joy's first birthday.
She supported her husband during his 32-year career in the U.S. Army enduring World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
She is survived by her sister, Patti Colton Lodge of Phoenix, Arizona, her sons, Ray Colton Vallery, Sr. and his wife, Martha Walsh Vallery, and Chris Edward Vallery, Sr. and his wife, Elaine Pope Vallery, all of Fayetteville, North Carolina; her daughter, Cheri Vallery Bryan, of Kenner, Louisiana; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two nieces and three nephews.
Services will be on Thursday, February 9, 9:30 a.m. at Fort Bragg Main Post Chapel with graveside services immediately following at Post Cemetery at 11 a.m.
