Mr. Bobby Brigman, 76, of Fayetteville, went home peacefully to be with his Lord Wednesday morning, Jan. 20, 2010, after a long illness.
A celebration of Bobby's life will be held on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 23, 2010, at 2 pm in Northwood Temple Church. Dr. John Hedgepeth will officiate. The burial will follow at Cross Creek Cemetery No. 3.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday evening, January 22, 2010, at Jernigan Warren Funeral Home.
Bobby was a licensed member of the North Carolina Opticians Association for 46 years. He worked at Fayetteville Optical and Bordeaux Optical for many years, before becoming the proud owner and operator of Fayetteville Optical for 15 years, before going into semi-retirement in 1998.
One of Bobby's favorite past times in his younger days was \\"shagging\\". He was inducted into the \\"Shaggers Hall of Fame\\" in May of 1994.
Bobby was a loyal and active member of Northwood Temple Church for 40 years. He took great joy in participating in many of Northwood's holiday productions over the years.
Bobby was a faithful servant of his Lord and he witnessed wherever he went.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Louise; a daughter, Joy Tart and her husband, Ronnie Tart, of Fayetteville; a son, Guy Brigman and his wife, Tina Brigman, of Garner. Bobby had four grandchildren, Bobby, Jessica, Jason and Garrett, which he was very proud of; He is also survived by a sister, Jackie Sawyer of Fayetteville.
