Obituary

Bobby Gene Stallings, of Fayetteville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007. Mr. Stallings was born in Sampson County to the late David Homer Stallings and Edna King Stallings. After serving his country in the U.S. Army, he was employed by Sprint for 40 years. He attended Temple Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the Coed III Sunday school class and a leader in the Mission Friends class. Mr. Stallings was a NASCAR fan and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing. He was a loving brother, husband, daddy and papa. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Wilson Stallings; a daughter, Dr. Jennifer Stallings Massey and husband Charles R. Massey of Seven Lakes; a brother, Sherwood Stallings of Ingold; two sisters, Becky Williams of Ingold and Marilyn Kersey of Clinton; and a granddaughter, Reagan Caroline Massey. A celebration of life service will be held at Temple Baptist Church in Fayetteville today, Oct. 17, 2007, at 3 p.m. by Dr. Robert Lewis, the Rev. Lee Spearman and the Rev. Michael Howard. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, 3159 Sanderosa Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
