EASTOVER - Mrs. Bonnie Holmes Bullard, 98, of Eastover, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, in Bethesda Healthcare Facility. She was born Jan. 15, 1910, to the late Archibald and Alice Holmes and lived her entire life in the farming area of the Eastover community. Mrs. Bullard was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Bullard; and two children, Faye Bullard Warren and Rudolph Bullard. Mrs. Bullard is survived by her son, Glen Bullard and his wife, Thelma, of Eastover; her daughter, Peggy MacDonald and her husband, Morris, of Hampton, Va.; 11 grandchildren, Beverly Lane, Phyllis Hutson, Michael MacDonald, Dennis MacDonald, Martha Turvey; Alyce Finocchio, Dena Bullard, Sandra Bullard, Janet Bullard, Lisa LaFollette and Jenny Lhotsky; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Bullard was known by many to be a very loving, giving person, and she spent her life caring for her family. She was the caretaker for many of her grandchildren. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 12, 2008, in the Holmes family cemetery on Rockhill Road in Eastover, with Dr. Bill Snotherly officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Salem United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2171 Middle Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312.
